Japan is another world — 10 cities, 21 days.
2 old friends in Japan, the dream to come here with the animes I watched — so let's go!
I traveled by train and shinkansen with the JR RailPass and I slept with people from CouchSurfing, some friends and one hostel.
It was my first time in Asia. I met lots of people during my trip — THANK YOU EVERYBODY for sharing your time with me, it was awesome!
It was between the 6th and the 28th of October (my mum's birthday). I started and finished in Nagoya at my childhood friend's place. I went to a lot of railway stations and took many different kinds of trains! I spent 1 to 4 nights in each city, as planned before the trip — with some surprises.
When I traveled in Europe in summer, I was used to having time to visit outside. In Japan it was a pity to see the night around 5pm — I knew I had to see as much as possible before dark. My hosts worked very late, and with the early night it was not easy to spend time together as I wished.
Everywhere and at any time, there are people in the street — I'm not used to that in my small city! People in Japan feel more like a community than a personal vision of life. They take care of each other and think of others before themselves — the inverse of Europe. The only problem: you can't always guess if Japanese people do or say something to make you happy, or just because they can't say no. But the great thing is feeling comfortable and safe everywhere ;)
Everybody should go to Japan once in their life to see another way of life, completely different from Europe.
